May 13th, 2006 - BC Classic : Blue Team 26 Gold Team 5
It was good to see everyone at the Classic again this year. It was a well played game despite the rainy conditions. The teams were tied at 5-5 at half time, and the Blue team managed to put three converted tries on the board in the second half. The Gold "Old Boys" team came close on many occasions, just spilling the ball or being held up over the line on a couple of close calls.
There was an international referee on hand at the game, and I personally think he did a wonderful job of managing the game. He confided to me later that he was glad to get so much advice during the game - sometimes it seemed like all 30 players were advising him on what the call should be.
